Amazon (Study Case)

This ERD represents a simplified Amazon-style marketplace e-commerce platform database structure. The schema supports core features including user accounts, seller management, product catalog, shopping cart, orders, payments, shipments, reviews, and Prime subscriptions. The users table stores account information and authentication data, while addresses and payment_methods manage shipping destinations and reusable payment instruments. Premium membership is tracked through prime_subscriptions. The marketplace structure is represented through the sellers table, where users can register as merchants. Products are organized via a hierarchical categories table and the brands table, and each product can have multiple options through product_variants, which are tracked one-to-one in the inventory table.
