Layout and Style

For large ERDs, using auto-layout, groups, memos, colors, and the minimap together makes the structure easier to read quickly.

Auto Layout

Auto layout repositions the tables in the current ERD according to relationship flow. Run it from the canvas toolbar's auto-layout button or from the canvas right-click menu.

Table Colors

Table header background colors can be used for domains, business areas, or importance markers. You can use preset colors, recently used colors, manually entered colors, and eyedropper selection. Colored tables are also distinguishable in the minimap, making large diagrams easier to navigate.

Group Areas

In group mode, drag to create rectangular areas and group tables by domain. Group titles can be edited directly, and groups support color changes, resizing, and deletion. The ERD model stores each group's position, size, title, and background color.

Memos

In memo mode, add explanation blocks to the canvas. Memos can be edited inline and support color changes, resizing, and deletion. Use them for modeling intent, review notes, or reasons for changes that are hard to store on a table itself.

Fit View, Lock, and Minimap

Fit View adjusts the viewport so the full ERD is visible, and Lock prevents unintended movement and editing. The minimap shows your current position, zoom level, and viewport coordinates together.
